This product performed exactly as intended as a replacement for a faulty transformer that was included with a lighting kit. My only complaint is with the wires. The were too short to loop back through the hole in the center, necessitating my needing to solder extension wires to facilitate installation. (Posted on 3/16/2021)

I bought this transformer to replace a burned out one in my trusty old Ikea "MAGNESIUM" track lighting. The description claims it should fit these old Ikea fixtures. But what I found is that is ALMOST fits perfectly. Because the plastic case of the replacement transformer is thicker than the sheet metal of the original, the screws holding the transformer to the unit cannot be used, and you will have to find compatible screws that are 1/8" longer or so. A second issue is that the cosmetic metal cover that is placed over the transformer to hide the internals from being seen through the clear plastic of the fixture does not fit over the new transformer. You can either discard the cover, since it does not have a functional use, or you can snip off enough of the sheet metal to clear the new transformer, which is what I did. Now that it is installed, I am thrilled to have my favorite fixture working again! And what a bargain!! (Posted on 12/28/2020)

First off, Total Transformers is a wonderful company with a wonderful web page. The tips for LED drive transformers (if converting from Halogen to LED) is great and your video's were helpful. I had incorrectly diagnosed my original transformer as "bad" and ordered the new one. Then I found the minimum load note on the original transformer and found that my light bar to transformer connection was open and the transformer wouldn't start. The video also revealed the problems with using a digital multimeter to measure the AC voltage. My meter read ~30V with a 100W load but an older analog meter showed the voltage at around 11VAC. Long story-short, now I have a spare transformer if the original dies. (Posted on 10/3/2020)

Tested before installing.
Worked well. Videos very helpful. Used on Portfolio track lights. Traced the problem to a short in the powered hanger on the canopy. Bypassed the hanger by running two wires through drill holes through the canopy directly from the transformer to the rails. After several months now the lights are functional. Thanks.
